Director of "Final Fantasy 14" eagerly awaits crossover with "Diablo

"Final Fantasy 14" has crossovers coming up, from Monster Hunter to Yokai Watch to the surprisingly fun "Fall Guys" later this month. Director and producer Naoki Yoshida has yet another dream game to collaborate on: it's "Diablo."

At a fan festival press conference in London, Yoshida admitted that he is eager to collaborate with Blizzard's gore-festooned action RPG series. I've talked about this in the past, but I'm a big fan of Blizzard. So if it works out, I would be very happy to collaborate with Diablo," he said.

Now, "Final Fantasy 14" does not completely dispel the dark themes, twisted visuals, and sinister plot. But it doesn't come close to "Diablo. Diablo's worldview could be described as quite, well, hardcore graphic," he said. So it's going to skyrocket all over the place. In terms of evaluation, it can be a little difficult. Of course, on the other hand, we don't want to disappoint the fans of the franchise. So it's a difficult point."

Yoshida joked that instead of trying to raise the gore level in Final Fantasy 14, they might be able to lower Blizzard's gore level a few steps." So, of course, if you're going for a softer version of Diablo in 14 ... Of course, that may not be what people want as well."

.

I honestly could not imagine a world where Final Fantasy and Diablo collide, especially given that these MMO partnerships are often a two-way street. However, if Fall Guys can work, Diablo might not be such a wild idea either. It's a series with super interesting themes and architecture, and I wouldn't mind a chance for the Warrior of Light to meet Lilith.

That wasn't the only talk of collaboration that took place at the press conference. Yoshida suggested that in the near future, we may see the return of a long-dormant special crossover involving Yokai Watch.
