MultiVersus scrubbed the presence of Justin Roiland's voice work for the game's adult swimming characters Rick and Morty, replacing it with a line of fresh, bespoke voices courtesy of the new actor.

I peeped through the game's credits during a preview build that got my hands on earlier this month, but to be sure, Roiland is especially lacking from the English voice talent roster. Instead, Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden (Rick and Morty's new voice actors, respectively) are in attendance.

Roiland was removed from Rick & Morty, co-created with Dan Harmon by Adult Swim early last year, but was charged in 2020 with "felony household battery with corporal punishment" and "felony false imprisonment by threat, violence, fraud and/or deception."5 He also resigned from Squanch Games, a studio he co-founded around the same time.

"As a result of insufficient evidence to prove the accusation beyond reasonable doubt, the accusation was removed 2 months later in 2023/3. After the dismissal, Roiland tweeted that "I never doubted that this day would come," adding, "I am determined to move forward and focus on both my creative project and the recovery of my good name."

Despite this, additional allegations surfaced in an nbc report in 2023/9. Roiland claimed to have had explicit conversations with many young fans, some of whom were reportedly underage. Royland's lawyers called the allegations "false and defamatory." Roiland has been radio silent on social media since his above tweet last year.

It is worth noting that Roiland did not actually offer the original audio work for MultiVersus. Every line for both Rick and Morty has a custom voice work done by the rest of the cast, even though the TV show or the reason was almost assumed that Roiland was busy with rick & Morty's Season 6 and his game High On Life, but it didn't really solve it. .

It is not the case with Cardoni and Belden who have come to the board to record some game-specific voice lines. In the intro movie, Rick uses a portal gun to drive through Batcave, shouting, "Sorry Bruce!"Before hopping off elsewhere. I didn't get a chance to plonk either character in a fight with someone else because of those sweet special interactions, but I think they're also in the game

because of how the new Rick and Morty sounds among people like Lebron James, Mark Hamill's Joker, and Banana Guard. It's not long to wait if you want to hear what it sounds like. MultiVersus officially relaunches on May 28 with some interesting new PvE missions and tweaked combat that I much prefer.
