Helldivers2major order challenges players to scrap 2 billion bots, but warns that Super Earth will be much harder than it was last time

A few weeks ago, Super Earth offered Helldivers2 players two new strategies and let them decide which to unlock by voting with a gun. The winner was the airburst rocket launcher, which beat a non-flashy anti-tank mine with a super mile. Given how satisfying the airburst's shotgun blast was, it was the right choice, but Super Earth gave us another chance to complete the pair.

"Choohe Md-17 anti-tank mines suffered tragic and inevitable losses to automata and civilians, production immediately began elsewhere" and read a new in-game dispatch "Heldiver has been ordered to carry out a powerful and large-scale decommissioning of the automata army." Scraps of the recovered dismantled bots will be directed to the construction of MD-17 anti-tank mines."

"Massive" indeed. The new major order calls for us to scrap twenty billion bots in five days. At the time of writing, daytime divers have come to prominence with more than 40 million bots killed so far.

Well, before quoting the two billion bug campaign that we won a few weeks ago, it's important to know that certain achievements are clearly attributed to bugs (code types) that recorded more Terminid kills than we actually earned. That bug has been fixed, and Arrowhead says you should expect this order to be much more difficult as a result.

Still, we got this. After weeks of TCS tower malfunctions in terminal space, I'm in the mood for the automaton huntin'. Major order is also a good excuse to try out the new Polar Patriots weapon against other factions — the Tenderizer assault rifle is pretty bland so far, but I've heard great things about the Pummeler SMG and its wondrous ability to stagger basically everything.
