Hidetaka Miyazaki said that he knows for a fact that other From Software developers want a PC port of "Bloodborne": "If I said I wanted it, it would be a problem, but I'm not against it.

As I was wrapping up my interview with From Software president Hidetaka Miyazaki for PC Gamer's "Shadow of the Erdtree" cover story, I knew I couldn't leave the conference room where I had sat for over an hour without asking the "question." It was the question that has been on the forefront of every PC gamer's mind at every major live stream and gaming event since Sony began offering games on Steam: when will Bloodborne be available for PC?

Obviously, I'm not the first person to ask Miyazaki about returning to Bloodborne or working on a sequel. Just a few months ago, he told IGN that From Software does not own the IP rights. Unfortunately, and this is something I have said in other interviews, it is not my place to speak specifically about "Bloodborne".

I tried a slightly different approach. I said that if I didn't ask this question, it would be problematic, and I admitted that I knew that From Software did not own "Bloodborne". But millions of PC gamers still hold out hope, I said, and I wondered if Miyazaki personally hopes that Bloodborne will one day be released on the PC.

This elicited laughter from the From Software staff, and then a serious answer.

"It's true that these people want a PC port of Bloodborne," Miyazaki said, referring to From Software producer Yasuhiro Kitao and interpreter Bobby Simpson, who were sitting at a conference table near him. I'd be in trouble too if I said I wanted it," Miyazaki said. But I'm not against it."

I thought this was the end of the subject, but Miyazaki answered in more detail.

"Obviously, as one of the creators of Bloodborne, my personal and genuinely honest opinion is that I want more players to enjoy it. Especially if it's one of those games that's in season right now, one of those games of the past that's lost on older hardware, I hope that more players have the opportunity to experience it and relive this relic of the past. So, for me, that's definitely not something I'm against.

PC gamers, have you heard - Miyazaki wants a PC version of "Bloodborne". From Software wants a PC version of "Bloodborne". So what is Sony going to do about it? [Stay tuned for more on "The Elden Ring: Shadow of the Eldestree" later this week.
