"Spears seem to be cursed": Even with the otherwise good Helldivers2 patch, the FAF-14 spears can't take a break once they start crashing the game

All that being said, Helldivers2's latest patch appears to have been a solid hit with players who are in relief. The game will never return to its stratospheric peak of 400,000 players, which is normal for most live-service phenomena, but is located on an average of a very respectable 50,000 players. Doubly, given that everyone and their Mohg are playing a little game called the Elden Ring: Shadow of The Erdtree, that's right now.

Well, there's one exception — it's a good patch for everyone, but the spear — I'm trying to humanize to a strange degree rocket launcher, in case you don't know your history in some way, the FAF-14Spear has been a little underdog since launch. Mainly because of the complete destruction of its targeting system.

Intended to be a long-range solution to all your dud problems, the spear is intended to fire guided missiles at Liberty's enemies. The target computer was incredibly useless, so it rarely did it — it rarely locked into what you wanted, and even when it did, it tended to smell without identifiable reasons.

When the patch notes fell earlier this month, the end of that predicament was visible: "The FAF-14 spear targeting was reworked." This will be fixed automatically.

Unfortunately, another unintended thing happened. Spear (bless its heart, it is trying so hard) began to crash the game. In response to the player's report, Community Manager Twinnbeard confirmed in Helldivers2Discord that spears are ghosts: "Yeah, there's a crash related to spears right now. We are looking into it. The spear seems to be cursed."

In a later message, Twinnbeard added that players experiencing trouble should "pray to the diver gods, do spear exorcism and say 100 hail freedom," but most importantly, "I hope the High Command and the Department of Defense will create a fix." (Maybe even next week)."

So pour one for the spear, a rocket launcher that really, really could not.I want it to eventually claim its rightful place as "the weapon you want to use, sometimes" because it's a killer concept on paper. In the meantime, there may be another rocket launcher to try right away.
