The Elven Rings pre-Erdtree patch changes the quality of life of a big, surprise: You can finally summon Torrent for the final battle with the big Boss

The big pre-Shadow of the Erdtree update on the Elden Ring is now live, and one of the biggest changes is one that hasn't been teased before: Yes, it's true, ah

Torrent allows for significantly increased mobility during combat — horses, even strange magic things, are much faster than people — And so many players really felt their absence during the climax battle, which takes place in a large and open arena with very mobile bosses. This is reflected in the immediate positive reaction to the changes casually pointed out in line 1, packed in the middle of the "New Inventory Features" section.

Interestingly, some players said that the change was not a naff in the Battle of Eldenbeast, but only a change in the quality of life. "It's not that it's too lazy to keep running everywhere, and it doesn't make the fight easier," redditor SirSabza wrote. "I don't knock a horse every 5 seconds because of how big the Elden Beast is," he said."

Others have also expressed doubts that it took so long to make the changes and, of course, avid soulslikers asterisk the addition of Torrents to the record book.

It's obviously a highlight, but for my money the big winner is a poor, neglected mouse like me.

Previously, we were unable to remap the Elden Ring's "map" keybind, but even worse, the game provided no indication (I noticed or remembered) as to which key it was bound to. It was. Even worse than that, the damn thing is G.And why'm an obvious choice, Tab is an acceptable choice; hell, I can live with having to mash esc and then select from the menu. but g?

Yes, for the record, I played the Elden ring with the mouse and keyboard and frankly I did pretty well by it. But I've never been bothered at least a bit by the horrible M&K interface: I get that soulslikes are supposed to be hard, but I don't think the endless struggle with shitty controls is meant to be a part of it. (And yes, a lot of my apparently still fresh stimulation is either the fact that I came back to the Elden Ring a few nights ago and had to figure out how to get into the map again, or the Mashing G is counterintuitive nonsense, and I apologize for nothing.

Mouse and keyboard warriors will also appreciate the addition of a new "lock-on change threshold" (actually labeled "Target change sensitivity" in keyboard/mouse settings) for mouse control. We were all there, right' (right?

This patch makes many improvements to Elden Ring's inventory features, including markers for newly acquired items and a new tab that displays all recently snagged items in one place Note that these additions are not turned on by default: If you want to use them, you can view them in the Elden Ring settings. Go to the menu,

This patch is going to have more things going on, including balance adjustments for both PvP and PvE gameplay, and numerous bug fixes — you can see the full Elden Ring1.12 patch notes below.
