Nintendo Direct showcase offers more to PC gamers than the grim spectacle of having to watch Hollow Knight fans' lingering hopes shatter in another year. While the first-party Nintendo stuff is trapped in Mario's walled garden, it certainly becomes evident for third-party games that have also hit PCs - especially with a lot of long-awaited remastered and jrpg remakes seen, and Nintendo's showcase this summer continues that trend. Here's what we're looking forward to from this 6-month Nintendo Direct:

Fantasian Neo Dimension is an "enhanced version" of the Apple Arcade RPG by Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi and renowned composer Nobuo Uematsu. Hard to collect many details from the JRPG melodrama directly in the trailer, but it showed off some cool mechanics: in turn-based combat you can control your firing arc and hit multiple enemy targets. While running around the Overworld, you can also banish the enemies you encounter to "Dimengeon" to fight them all at once later and defeat a lot of enemies at once by controlling the path of attack. It seems to be neat. The Fantasian Neo Dimension website says it will come out on Steam this winter, but there's no Steam list yet.

Mio looks a bit like a hollow Knight-esque Metroidvania, but with Android in a colorful, overrun space arc instead of Destiny bugs. It has a nice art style and its player character robot has a really cool design with hair-like energy tendrils that can be used for rationing and combat. Mio: Memories in Orbit is expected to be released on Steam in 2025.

It is basically Sanrio Star Dew and it is coming to PC. You can make your own little creatures. Is it the port of Apple's arcade games? Yes. But pompom pudding is there. (The big challenge is the answer, but he now rests with the angels.

Dragon Quest is getting Square HD-2D processing and the first up for remake is Dragon Quest 3. DQ3 is the earliest story in chronological order of "The Erdrick Trilogy," which consists of the first 3 dragon quest games. And don't worry, the HD-2D remakes for Dragon Quest 1 and Dragon Quest 2 will also arrive next year.

Dragon Quest 3HD-2D Remake will be released on 2024/11/14.
