DevolverDigital has now issued an official statement saying, "We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate error that resulted in the cancellation of the authorized keys purchased by our community, which was our mistake." The statement claims that affected players can contact Devolver to "recover their copy of the game."

In a statement to PC Gamer, Devolver further clarified this point Players affected by either issue will soon receive a free key.
