Warzone bug turns FR5.56 into a ridiculous one-hit-kill machine

Running a popular multiplayer game always involves a tradeoff between quality and quantity, although in games like "Apex Legends" and "Fortnite" developers are under constant pressure to release new updates, guns, and maps, The more new things are implemented, the more glitches change. Then again, if the rotation of fresh content becomes too slow for fans' liking in order to improve what is already there, fans may lose patience and jump ship.

And that seems to be what Call of Duty has been doing since Warzone Season 5 opened two weeks ago. Players have noticed weapons and cash missing, as well as the odd "devil gun glitch," which seems to be a combination of an assault rifle and Assassin's Creed's Animus. Recently, however, a new problem was discovered: the FR 5.56 (FAMAS) under-barrel shotgun is completely broken, and Infinity Ward is working on a fix.

As Call of Duty's finest, TheXclusiveAce, highlights in the video below, switching the FR 5.56's barrel attachment wipes the floor with the unfortunate people who happen to cross its path. Usually, as he points out, the FAMAS is almost toothless against better weapons like the Grau and M4A1, and its under-barrel shotgun is good for two or three hit kills up close at best. For now, that's another story.

Since the start of Season 5, one-hit kills with this shotgun attachment have been possible up to 15 meters away; in TheXclusiveAce's video, he tested the temporary superweapon against a full-armor enemy from this distance, and somehow the target went down with a single shot The target somehow went down with a single shot. This was compared to the same attachment on other ARs like the M4A1; the 41-kill game played by HusKerrs and the devastation wrought by the NICKMERCS shows how much damage a buggy boomstick can do when in the right hands (not mine).

FR5.56 received the necessary damage range buff earlier this season, which seems to have been accidentally passed on to the shotgun attachment. This may explain why this attachment is so powerful on this particular gun.

Since this issue is not likely to remain in the game for long, we would prefer not to design the next loadout around FAMAS. In the meantime, let's hope we don't run into players wielding FR 5.56. At least the fact that you can only get special under-barrel shotgun shells from ammo boxes and ammo dumps minimizes the impact of the bug.

As for setups that will still be valid after the inevitable patch, check out Warzone's best loadout list and see the gun-specific builds further up this page.
