New gaming chair from Logitech and Herman Miller, priced at $1,495

Don't be surprised, you knew it would come with that price tag. The Herman Miller x Logitech Embody G gaming chair has been announced. Announced and then postponed, this long-awaited chair is a departure from the usual racing-style seats we've grown accustomed to in gaming.

The sleek black embody is not flashy. Instead of the usual "look at me" aesthetics, what the Embody claims to offer is meticulous control over a number of slight adjustments to perfectly fit your body shape. So much so that the usual headrest and lumbar support cushions are more than necessary.

I'm inclined to believe Herman Miller's claim that cushions are no longer necessary. My office chair is far from the typical Herman Miller, but I have had the pleasure of using several models in the past. As I spend more and more time indoors at my desk, I have to be more and more careful.

The original Herman Miller Embody is another top pick for the best gaming chairs.

The new Embody is fully assembled and comes with a 12-year warranty, so you won't have to worry about replacing it for years to come.

The chair has several gamer upgrades that set it apart from the regular Embody. It comes with an "enhanced gaming seat" that supports a more active seating experience and cooling foam to prevent sweaty backs, a problem that only gamers face.

Still, the price is enough to put anyone off, and clearly illustrates the concept that if you want good posture, you must be prepared to pay the price for it. If you can't afford a four-figure ergonomic chair or don't have the freedom to completely rethink your desk space, you can still make your desk healthier and more comfortable by following these tips.

The chair is still awaiting its official release, as Herman Miller is still working out the details and further testing is needed to ensure the 12-year warranty is met. Those who wish to be kept up-to-date can sign up for notifications on the Herman Miller website.
