Jordan Vogt-Roberts is trying to make a Metal Gear Solid cartoon.

The "Metal Gear Solid" movie has been in limbo for so long that it may have slipped your mind that it might happen. Now, director Jordan Vogt-Roberts is apparently trying to make an animated Metal Gear Solid movie happen as well.

Vogt-Roberts has been working on a Solid Snake adaptation for six years and has now expanded his plans to include an animated series that would bring back the original voice cast, including David Hayter.

The director of Gary Whitta's "Animal Chatter" show Chatter in Animal Crossing: Kong: Skull Island said he is currently working on a series, which would be produced in parallel with the film.

However, even if a movie is made, it still seems quite far off. Director Vogt-Roberts has a potential actor for the role of Solid Snake, but according to the director, little progress has been made because of the difficulty of selling the role to a Hollywood studio.

But he is undeterred and intends to keep trying to make the film. Look, this is my baby. I've been working on it for six years, trying to make it subversive, punk rock, true to Metal Gear, true to the spirit of Kojima-san.

An anime seems more likely than a Hollywood adaptation, and casting seems easier, so we may see the adventures of Snake and friends in anime long before we see the movie.
