New "Workers and Resources" Update Takes Communists to the Nukes

The game, which has more absolute bangers on its soundtrack than any other city simulator, has received a new update that adds a nuclear power industry. Workers and resources: the nuclear power industry and all that goes with it has been added to the Soviet Republic. There are uranium mines, processing plants, conversion plants, and nuclear fuel plants that can actually be put into nuclear power plants! It's exactly the kind of complexity that fans of this game, and detailed simulations in general, want. The update also adds higher voltage transmission lines and a spent fuel dump for new nuclear energy and radioactive waste.

Of course, in horrific and historic fashion, the plant could catch fire, spreading radioactive contaminants across the landscape and contaminating the world for generations to come. How delightful!

The update also includes a delivery garage, where trucks can be assigned to automatically deliver goods according to the needs of nearby buildings. This will greatly ease the burden on players and will make the game more accessible to many who are fed up with having to manage the details of a delivery van for each grocery store. In other exciting news, the game also revamps the walking range of citizens, greatly reducing the minutiae of the city layout. The patch notes include many other changes.

Workers and Resources Soviet Republic is an intensely hardcore command economy city simulator created by Romanian studio 3Division. Putting you in charge of an undeveloped communist state on the eastern and western borders, you can flesh out multiple cities and build an entire region's economy almost from scratch. There are lots of neat things to do, including an elaborate construction industry and trade with both the communist and western worlds. It's in Early Access, and it's not quite ready for release, but I like it a lot.

Workers & Resources is in Early Access on Steam: The Soviet Republic is in Early Access on Steam.
