Grand Theft Auto 5, with its alien-inspired effects throughout, including the appearance of a UFO atop Mount Chiliad, seems to have finally invaded. A band of aliens has been terrorizing the good people of Los Santos in GTA Online, causing mischief and beating other players to death with baseball bats.

Over the past two weeks, a steady stream of ET evidence has popped up online, proving that the aliens are real and they are all assholes.

Here they are beating up some poor guy who was out shopping.

Of course, they also kidnap people; they don't do anything fancy like beam them into a UFO and experiment on them. Instead, they're beating each other up in rusty vans and trailers.

We learn important details about aliens from these encounters. For example, there seems to be an alien civil war going on, with Earth as the battleground. [Usually they just spread chaos, pick random targets, and kick the crap out of them, but here they seem to be assisting law enforcement and helping cops take down gunmen. Villain or hero? You decide.

Despite advanced bat technology and a relentless thirst for blood, some victims have managed to escape alien attacks.

I'm sure this has inspired more gangs of mischievous ETs. In just a few weeks, goofiness has spawned a strange community of aggressive aliens. Funny as it is, it also mimics a real-life trend, like when people started dressing up as creepy clowns to scare people. It's brilliant.

These encounters tend to leave players dead, but at least they end up with a great anecdote. I quit GTA Online early on because it's no fun to get killed by a guy in a modified car with a rocket launcher when you're trying to complete a mission and find a new crime buddy, but at least this costumed killer shows his victims a good time.
