Cyberpunk 2077's former Polish distributor files for bankruptcy.

CDP, the would-be Polish distributor of Cyberpunk 2077, filed for bankruptcy this week. However, the distribution of the RPG was not affected and is now being handled by another company.

The distributor was founded in 1994 as part of CD Projekt. However, it was acquired in 2014 and became independent and is no longer part of the CD Projekt group.

CDP was poised to work with the former owner to distribute the RPG in its home country of Poland, but had to delay until September 17 after CD Projekt announced that development was not progressing as expected. Following the delay, layoffs at CDP were reported, and another company, Cenega, took over.

Unfortunately, the company may have been dependent on Cyberpunk 2077 and has not been able to recover since the postponement; according to Puls Biznesu, it has now filed for bankruptcy and the court has appointed a temporary supervisor.

While the coronavirus has changed the plans of many developers, CD Projekt has assured future cyberpunks that Cyberpunk 2077 is still on track for a September launch.
