NZXT has released a mini-ITX case for system builders interested in assembling small form factor (SFF) PCs. It also resembles Microsoft's Xbox Series X.

The Xbox Series X is the first gaming console to look like a PC tower.

The H1 is a compact tower measuring 187 (W) x 387.7 (H) x 187.6 (D) mm / 7.36 x 15.26 x 0.29 inches and weighing 6.53 kg (14.4 lbs.) According to NZXT, one of the intentional design elements was to make the H1 easy to integrate

"We always wanted to improve the small form factor case because it is often difficult to integrate and can hinder the performance of high-end hardware," says Johnny Hou, founder and CEO of NZXT. So when designing the NZXT H1, we simplified the build process and focused on performance. We aimed to make it one of the easiest builds without compromising when gaming."

The vertical SFF case can accommodate up to two 2.5" storage drives, and the drive trays are tool-less; NZXT also designed the case so that the motherboard I/O faces down, allowing cables to be routed from the bottom to the isolated chamber on the right side This allows the cables to be routed from the bottom to the isolated chamber on the right side.

NZXT's dual-chamber approach also lends itself to better cooling, according to the company; the H1 comes with a 140mm integrated liquid cooler, but there is no option to add a fan. This didn't seem to be an issue when our friends at Tom's Hardware reviewed this case, but your judgment may differ.

Whether or not to incorporate the Xbox Series X killer into this look-alike case will depend on what you put inside and what Microsoft's next-generation console will look like. Microsoft recently revealed some details of the GPU that will be built into the Xbox Series X, and based on TFLOPs

That said, most full-size graphics cards should fit into the H1. By taking advantage of the riser-mount design, the case will support GPUs up to 305 mm (12 inches) long, but be careful not to exceed the 2.5 slots. For reference, Nvidia's Founders Edition GeForce RTX 2080 Ti is 266.74 mm (10.5 inches) long and occupies two slots.

Of note is the price: NZXT is asking $349.99 for the H1, with black and white color options available; the 650W PSU and 140mm CPU AIO cooler add considerable value, but compared to other SFF cases it is Expensive.

NZXT also offers the H1 as an option for BLD-built PCs; the H1 model starts at $1,999 and includes a Core i9-9900K processor, Asus ROG Strix Z390-I motherboard, and 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM, GeForce RTX 2070 Super graphics card, and a 1TB Intel 660p SSD.
