Streets of Rage 4 adds new characters and 4-player co-op

Dotemu recently revealed that a new fighter will be joining "Streets of Rage 4. Floyd Elijah, dubbed the "Cybernetic Brother," is said to "crush your heart this spring. He has metal arms and appears to be able to use some sort of massive laser blast.

As you can see, Floyd Ilaiah is not the only important figure in this announcement; Streets of Rage 4 offers online and offline co-op play, with up to four players in the latter. As the trailer indicates, this is a first for the series. The full video can be viewed below.

Streets of Rage 4 is scheduled for release later this year, and will be co-developed by Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games, and will be a beat-em-up in a similar vein to the original Streets of Rage trilogy for the Sega Genesis. You can also check out the original Streets of Rage 4 trailer.
