Asus Announces Adorably Sized GeForce RTX 2060 Card for Compact PCs

At the Consumer Electronics Show, Intel announced the Ghost Canyon NUC (or NUC 9 Extreme Kit). A month later, Asus announced several compact GeForce RTX 2060 graphics cards.

The new Dual GeForce RTX 2060 Mini (DUAL-RTX2060-6G-Mini) and Dual GeForce RTX 2060 Mini OC edition (DUAL-RTX2060-O6G-Mini) are both 7.8" long, 4.8" high inches long and 1.5 inches wide; they fit the Ghost Canyon NUC and are also suitable for most small form factor (SFF) PCs.

These cards occupy two expansion slots to accommodate IP5X dust-proof cooling solutions; Asus states that for these shortened models, the layout of the cooling shrouds, heatsinks, and heatpipes has been redesigned for better cooling performance. Each card features a pair of "Axial Tech" fans.

"Newly designed for the latest generation of top-end ROG graphics cards, these fans feature smaller hubs that facilitate longer blades and barrier rings that increase downward air pressure," Asus said.

In gaming mode, the regular 2060 Mini stays true to the reference specifications with a base clock of 1,365 MHz and boost clock of 1,680 MHz. However, users can select OC mode to boost the boost clock to 1,710 MHz for a slight performance boost.

The 2060 Mini OC edition also has a base clock of 1,365MHz in Game mode, but a faster boost clock of 1,725MHz. Similarly, an OC mode that pushes the boost clock to 1,755 MHz is also available.

Asus has not disclosed when these cards will be available in retail stores or at what price. For reference, EVGA's GeForce RTX 2060 KO Gaming card is slightly longer (7.96 inches) and is priced at $299.99; Zotac also offers a shortened model that is slightly longer at 8.3 inches but sells for $319.99.
