Destiny 2 rollback completed, servers back online

Update: It's back! When logging into this game, there may be some confusion until everything is back to normal, but money and items will (hopefully) not be missing from your inventory.

Here is what happened as a result of the rollback:

Original story here:

The Destiny 2 update released a few weeks ago was as wrong as possible: as soon as this update was released, players started reporting glimmer and rare enhancements in their inventory materials and began reporting the loss of materials. In some cases, players even lost silver, a micro-transaction currency that must be bought with real money. The bug did not affect everyone, but it was serious enough that Bungie had to take the entire game offline for several hours and roll back accounts for the rest of the day to fix the bug. But have they fixed it?

Not quite.

Destiny 2 was taken offline for "emergency maintenance" about an hour before this tweet, following the rollout of a "minor" 2.7.1.1 hot fix. The reason for the withdrawal was not stated at that time, but Bungie has now confirmed that the bug has reappeared and will again take a long time to fix:

We have no idea why this keeps happening, but at least we know where the blame will be directed. We will report back. We will report back.
