Complete edition of "Sekiro" prequel to be published next month

A spin-off manga of "Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice" will be published in its entirety this February.Sekiro: Side Story of Hanbei the Undying" was originally published as "Sekiro Gaiden: Shinazu Hanbei" and began last May, following the story of Hanbei the Immortal, a friendly immortal NPC in the game, and allowing players to practice fighting against Hanbei in a risk-free environment. The full version of the game will be released in Japan on February 27.

As US Gamer points out, the manga has yet to be officially translated into English and released in the West. Fortunately, fan translations are available online, and collectors will want to get their hands on a print copy of this manga regardless of language.

Hanbei and his side story in "SEKIRO" were among the most popular of From Software's latest creations. The manga explores how he became involved in the events of "SEKIRO" and in the process reveals more about his past and family.

From Software games are known for not being particularly forthcoming about their lore, so comics like this one and the "Dark Souls" comic by Titan Comics are the best way to explore their world more deeply. The artwork is also excellent, and the heavy tone of the game is realized by Shin Yamamoto, who is also the creator of Monster Hunter: The Hunter of Flash and Naraku no Addu.

"Sekiro: Side Story of Hanbei the Undying" will be released in Japan on February 27. It can be pre-ordered at the Kadokawa Store for 748 yen ($6.79 / £5.22).
