Nvidia Reduces RTX 2060 Founders Edition to $299

The RTX 2060 is Nvidia's least expensive graphics card capable of ray tracing and originally launched a year ago at an MSRP of $350 (although for a while it was hard to find a 2060 at that price). mid-2019, an upgraded model will be available for $400. It was released and became the RTX 2060 Super, and now Nvidia has officially reduced the price of the regular RTX 2060 to $299.

The first evidence of the price cut came last week when EVGA announced two new RTX 2060 cards at CES, one of which cost just $280. And now Nvidia has made it official, with a stock Founders Edition model selling for $299 at the company's online store; most other variants of the 2060 are still priced around $330-350 for the time being.

This is likely a response to AMD's upcoming Radeon RX 5600 XT, which will offer performance somewhere between the GTX 1660 Ti and RTX 2060, but with an MSRP of $279. Whether that's the reason or not, it's nice to see ray tracing becoming a little more accessible. I think we can all agree that lower graphics card prices are nothing to complain about.
