The most talked about game of the year on Twitter was 2015's mobile RPG

Twitter recently released some of the data it examined, revealing what games we were chatting about throughout 2019. Apparently, Twitter was flooded with 1.2 billion tweets about games, but one game dominated the conversation the most: a Japanese mobile game released in 2015.

"Fate/Grand Order" is a seemingly random combination of words I've never seen before, so it clearly doesn't hang out in the trendy part of Twitter. It's a turn-based tactical RPG, which is inherently my thing, but it's also very anime-y. In fact, it has been animated and there is a manga. There is also a body pillow.

It has not been released in Europe, and was not released in the US until 2017. Japan remains the most popular country and the most tweeted about game in 2019. The United Kingdom remained in seventh place, behind France. Other things were busy.

The top 10 games were:

1. Fate/Grand Order2. Fortnite3. Final Fantasy4. Identity V5. Granblue Fantasy6. Ensemble Stars7. Monster Strike8. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds9. minecraft10. super smash bros

In esports, FaZe Clan was the most talked about on Twitter, while League of Legends Worlds 2019 most talked about esports event. In gaming in general, E3 was the event that generated the most tweets. Meanwhile, the most talked about gaming personality was that guy Mark Hamill played Fortnite with.

Do any of these look like anything you might have seen on Twitter last year?
