In May, the Epic Games store began giving away free games every week to celebrate its first big sale, and in June extended that process through the end of 2019. The year ended on a high note, offering 12 free games every day. Then came 2020 and we got three more free games.

And that's not the end of it; Darksiders, Darksiders 2, and Steep are still free for now, but when January 9 arrives, Sundered: Eldritch Edition will take their place. Sundered is a studio of Jotun A hand-drawn metroidvania developed by Thunder Lotus, players will have to either resist or embrace the ancient Eldritch forces. Games like this are rarely without a price: "At the cost of your humanity.

Omelets and eggs, sort of. The Eldritch Edition includes local co-op support for up to four players, plus new areas to explore, a new quest chain with unique rewards and brand new bosses, and all the regular updates that have been released since Sundered's launch.

Epic has yet to reveal their long-term plans, whether they intend to keep offering the game until part or all of 2020, or if this is just a write-off.
