Large Expansion for "Conan Exiles" Released Next Week

Conan Exiles' first major expansion, Spita Island, will be released in Early Access next Tuesday, September 15.

Spita is not an expansion of Conan Exiles' existing territory, but a new, independent island where players will get a fresh start. If you have never played a Conan the Barbarian-themed survival game, this expansion will offer you the opportunity to take part in the first exploration of a map "shrouded in a magical storm."

"The island is home to more than a dozen new dungeons known as vaults, waves of sorcery that spawn vile creatures and NPCs, and a sinister dark tower," says Funcom.

There's a lot going on in the trailer, but the bottom line is that there's a lot to kill, and a lot that will try to kill you, including the dreaded Sky Octopus (also known as "a demonic monster that spawns from a storm of pure chaos"). Of course, the biggest threat is still other players, otherwise it wouldn't be a game of survival.

In addition to the Isle of the Dead and the portal that summons them, the expansion includes a pirate-themed building set, a Stoneglass Castle building set, and a rhino mount. As long as the "Isle of Sipta" expansion is installed, these building sets can be used in the base game and rhinos can be ridden.

With the expansion's Early Access release coming next week, Conan Exiles will receive a free weekend (starting today at 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time) and a 65% discount.

The expansion itself is $20, but the price will increase after Sipta Island closes Early Access.
