Superman Concept Art Found in WB Games Contractor's Portfolio

Despite being one of the most iconic superheroes of all time, Superman has not had much luck in the game. While he has appeared in major films like "Injustice" and "LEGO DC," his solo appearances have usually been garbage, and we haven't seen him in quite some time. There is no word on this situation changing anytime soon, but some concept art of Superman has been spotted.

Twitter user tatlinksy noticed this concept art while looking through Joël Dos Reis Viegas' portfolio. Viegas was contracted to work on both "Origins" and "Arkham Knight" and helped the team "flesh out the original design." Most of the concept art is, of course, about Batman and his enemies, including the Joker and Harley. And then there's Supes, who flies over a city that resembles neither Metropolis nor Gotham.

After Rocksteady released the last Arkham game, rumors began to fly that the next project would feature Batman's friend and rival. It took Rocksteady's Sefton Hill three years to quash this rumor. However, this concept art suggests that either Rocksteady or WB Games Montreal was working on something featuring Superman at some point; it could be DLC, it could be the main game, but either way, it does not appear to be in production at the moment

The concept is not yet in the works.

Most of the concept art is dated, with none later than 2014, so it is likely that the Superman art is also from 2012-2014. since there have been no further leaks since the first rumors in 2015, the chances of this being related to a game currently in development The likelihood of this being related to a game currently in development seems quite low. [If rumors are to be believed, WB Games Montreal is currently working on a new Batman game, which was teased in September and Kotaku reports was to be announced at E3 2020, but the event was canceled. Meanwhile, Rocksteady's current projects remain a mystery.

Hopefully one day Superman's new adventures will actually be portrayed, but history has proven that it's a terrible idea. Making a game about a nearly indestructible alien with almost unlimited power has proven to be a real challenge, but someone has to try.

Cheers, VG24/7.
