Watch the new trailer for "The Last Campfire," the new film from "No Man's Sky" studio Hello Games.

At the 2018 Game Awards, Hello Games, developer of No Man's Sky, announced a new project called The Last Campfire. Developed by just two people at the studio, it is a smaller-scale game than "No Man's Sky," which the studio's head, Sean Murray, described as similar to a Pixar short film, and is meant to "foster creativity and new voices within the studio."

The video shown at the Game Awards teased a strange and beautiful fantasy adventure about "a lost Amber trapped in a mysterious place, searching for meaning and a way home." The film has not been heard from since, but today Hello released two screens and a haunting new trailer that showcases a bit of the strange and mysterious world.

The Last Campfire is listed on Steam, but there are no details about the nature of the game on that page." Travel deep into the lands beyond the dark forest and overcome the adversity before you. "Discover a beautiful wilderness filled with lost peoples, strange creatures, and mysterious ruins. Find hope and take it with you on a journey to light the last campfire."

It says.

It doesn't say anything specific, but I am very interested in this piece. It's very pretty, and "a hooded man exploring magical ruins in a colorful wilderness" is right up my alley. At this stage I'm tingling like a hob, and I really liked Hob. No release date has been set, but Hello Games says "The Last Campfire" is expected this summer. See the new screens below.
