Two new playable villains and a map have been announced for Resident Evil Resistance, which will be included with the Resident Evil 3 remake. The game, like "Dead by Daylight," requires four survivors to hold off an attack by powerful hostile forces, and in Resistance these hostile forces are called "masterminds," each with different abilities and approaches.

The new Masterminds are Alex Wesker and Oswell E. Spencer, two familiar names in the series. The former specializes in traps and "map manipulation," but can also summon a giant angry plant named Yateveo. Oswell E. Spencer is also quite keen on traps and can generate a "collapse field" that quickly drains your health bar as you pass through it. Both are nasty.

The new maps include Casino and Abandoned Park, which are fairly straightforward. Also, don't forget that there is a character named Martin Sandwich. Sadly, none of this is part of the Resident Evil canon, which is detailed on the PlayStation Blog.

Resident Evil Resistance will be released as part of Resident Evil 3 on April 3.
