Switch Exclusive "Demon X Machina" Coming to Steam Next Week

"Demon X Machina" was released exclusively for the Nintendo DS last September, but its exclusivity is about to end. The animated mech combat game will also be available on PC, with a confirmed release date of February 14 on Steam.

The game is being developed by Marvelous, Inc. the Japanese studio behind Fate / Extella: the broad strokes of the game are quite interesting. The general flow of the game is obvious: you are a powerful mech, destroying other powerful mechs. However, the Steam page elaborates:

"You are the Outer, a new species of human that emerged in the aftermath of the Moonfall disaster. As a mercenary in the Orbital Organization, you are on the front lines of a desperate war for the survival of humanity. Controlling a fully customizable mech called Arsenal, you must team up with other mercenaries like yourself and carry out missions to round up Immortals. In the war that mercenaries fight, today's allies can become tomorrow's enemies.

The game boasts several co-op modes (aside from the single-player campaign) and a 1vs1/2vs2 competitive mode. Critics were a bit mixed when the game was released on Switch last year, with scores ranging from 5 to the low 9s. Mech combat isn't for everyone, but it's worth a look if you miss "Armored Core" and the like. Oh, and expect a weird crossover between Geralt and Siri.
