In the cartoonish underworld, Satan stuffs his mouth with cake every day, and the Satanic version of The Great British Bake Off is playing on TV. Then one moment, all the cake is gone. So he must get up, find the cake, and fill his belly with treats blasted out of his vanquished foes.

So Satan Loves Cake is a familiar Metroid-like platformer, but with real charm, style, and humor. For example, there is Satan's Belly, which is essentially a wallet for earned currency (cake), which can be used to purchase new abilities.

My cakey journey ended when I died over and over again trying to use my new powers to cross large gaps. But I bet you, a more seasoned platformer like many of the commenters on the itch.io page, could have gone much further. Even if you don't make it to the end, there's plenty to enjoy in this sweet-toothed platforming game, from the funny writing to the cute pixel art.
