The Pedestrian, a side-scrolling game of road signs, will be released later this month.

After several years in development and a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2017, developer Skookum Arts' puzzle side-scroller "The Pedestrian" will be released on the 29th of this month.

The upcoming indie is a puzzle platformer that cleverly uses public signs and their symbols to create a path for humans to reach the exit by moving around various signs. Move the signs in any order, draw lines between them to connect them, and manipulate the person to move through the connected signs using doors and ladders.

Once a puzzle is solved, the game moves on to the next puzzle through a 3D background, showing the surrounding environment. Half the fun of solving puzzles is watching this transition and seeing more of the landscape. In the tutorial level, the player moves from one place to the next in a huge warehouse. If you want to see the game in action, Chris made a great GIF from a previous interview.

If you want to give The Pedestrian a try, you can download a demo from the game's Itch.io page.

After playing the demo, I am ready for more sign-scrolling puzzle games and will be playing the full game when it is released later this month. For more information, check out the game's official website and Steam page.
